ABSTRACT:
This document gives the information about mobile communications. A basic cellular system consists of three parts: a mobile unit, a cell site, and a mobile telephone switching office (MTSO) with connections to link the three subsystems. The switching office, the central coordinating element for all cell sites, contains the cellular processor and cellular switch .It interfaces with telephone company zone offices, Controls call processing and handles billing activities.
This section briefly describes the operation of the cellular mobile system from a customer perception with out touching the design parameters the mobile operation can be divided in to four parts and handoff procedure In cellular telecommunications, the term handoff refers to the process of transferring an ongoing call or data session from one channel connected to the core network to another. In satellite communications it is the process of transferring satellite control responsibility from one earth stations to another without loss or interruption of service.
