The major problems that are faced during the boarding of the flight are the time consuming identity checks and other procedures involved at the airport. The increasing fraud concerned with the passport is very common today. Hence an altogether new system of passport had to be introduced to serve the purpose.
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) came up with a new passport system known as the E-PASSPORT. It refers to ELECTRONIC PASSPORT. It is also known as BIOMETRIC PASSPORT.

• BIOMETRICS
Using RFID, every passport is assigned a unique code with the RFID tag..Using this technology, the fraud can be reduced to a great extent
The biometrics uses the physiological characteristics of a person for identification.

• Iris recognition
